Alert - #FairPay4HomeCare

From New York's Caring Majority:

We need you to keep the pressure on for #FairPay4HomeCare and call the leaders of the NYS legislature and Gov. Hochul today.

We are in a window of opportunity and possibility when our fight to raise wages for home care workers and end the home care shortage is hanging in the balance.

We need as many of us as possible to call the three people responsible for the NYS budget to let them know we are watching and organizing for the outcome we fought for.

Make these 3 calls today and then reply to this email to let us know you finished:

  • Governor Hochul at 518-474-8390 (HOT TIP: PRESS 3, then PRESS 1 to leave a message or PRESS 2 to speak to a representative. You may be on hold awhile):

Hello my name is [YOUR NAME], I am a constituent from [YOUR TOWN]. I’m calling because I have heard Gov. Hochul is not yet standing firmly behind including full #FairPay4HomeCare in the NYS budget. Fair Pay for Home Care is urgent to me because [YOUR REASON]. Every heart in New York is on our side, including the entire state legislature. We need Governor Hochul to end our state’s home care emergency by including Fair Pay for Home Care in this year’s budget!

  • Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins, (518) 455-2585

  • Speaker of the Assembly Carl Heastie, (518) 455-3791

Hello my name is [YOUR NAME], and I'm calling to THANK [THEIR NAME] for fighting so hard for a raise for home care workers in the budget this year. That support meant so much to me because [YOUR REASON]. I know [THEIR NAME] is fighting hard for older adults, disabled people, family caregivers, and home care workers. Can I count on [THEIR NAME] to hold the line with Gov. Hochul and to ensure a true living wage for home care workers this budget?

In solidarity,

The NY Caring Majority team
