Join the NY Caring Majority now in calling for Governor Hochul to end the home care crisis and include Fair Pay for Home Care in her Executive Budget proposal!

We are LIVE NOW calling on Governor Hochul to end the home care crisis by including Fair Pay for Home Care in the executive budget.

Check out our toolkit to AMPLIFY our “United in Support of Fair Pay for Home Care” press conference!

In her State of the State, Gov Hochul announced her goal to end the healthcare worker shortage — however, she did not allocate any funding for home care workers, and she did not provide any wage increases to home care workers.

As we speak, elected leaders, 1199 SEIU, AARP and Caring Majority leaders from across the state are making clear the Governor cannot end the health care shortage without raising wages for home care workers.

Sample posts for Twitter & Facebook (More sample posts and a share graphic can be found HERE):

1. New from the office of @RachelMayNY: 60% of open health care jobs are in the home care sector, and the driving cause of the home care shortage is low wages. Include #FairPay4HomeCare in the executive budget @GovKathyHochul

2. The support for #FairPay4HomeCare is overwhelming. Over 110 bipartisan co-sponsors! It’s time to address NY’s worst-in-the-nation home care workforce shortage by paying these essential workers a living wage @GovKathyHochul

3. Huge: If NY starts paying home care workers a living wage, we can generate $5.4 *billion* for the state and close a major workforce shortage. Help us pass #FairPay4HomeCare @GovKathyHochul

Our collective voice will be heard!
