People across the North Country are experiencing higher levels of isolation and loneliness during the pandemic. This is a real challenge for all of us, but particularly for our family and friends who reside in nursing homes.

Therefore, the North Country Center for Independence is partnering with Fesette Realty, organizations, and community members to share handmade letters and cards to nursing home residents across Clinton, Essex, and Franklin counties.

GOAL: 1,500 cards and letters!

Cards and letters will be made and delivered to a local drop box or mailed to Fessette Realty in Plattsburgh

  • Letters will be accepted from February 12 through March 5

  • Letters will be delivered the week of March 15

Frequent updates will be posted on NCCI’s Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram pages throughout the campaign.

We have been LOVING the handmade cards/letters we have received, but we want to provide another CONTACT-FREE way to participate,

Send your positive message for a nursing home resident via email to: cara@fesetterealty.com. We will print your message on a card to then be distributed to nursing home residents across the North Country!

Please send emails before March 5th.

The Mission of the North Country Center for Independence is to help people with disabilities to live more independent and productive lives, and promote better policies and community understanding of disability issues. NCCI serves people with disabilities, families, and the community on issues related to physical and mental disabilities. NCCI is led and staffed mostly by people with disabilities. It is one of the 41 Independent Living Centers in New York State. There are also hundreds of similar centers throughout the United States. NCCI serves Clinton and Essex Counties, New York.
