Alert: Fair Pay For Home Care Relaunch

ALERT in bold white letters on a red background

From New York's Caring Majority, via the New York Association on Independent Living:

Join the New York Caring Majority for our exciting Fair Pay for Home Care relaunch on December 14 - 16, at locations across the state! We will hear from legislative care champions as well as share our own care stories, demonstrating the power of our campaign to raise wages for home care workers, and the urgent need to end our state’s worst-in-the-nation workforce shortage.

Here are the relaunch details we have so far:

  • NEW TIME - December 14 at 12:30 PM in Manhattan, Union Square (RSVP). Contact zahara@jfrej.org with questions.

  • December 14 at 12 PM: Independent Living Inc, 5 Washington Terrace, Newburgh, NY (RSVP). Contact Gemma@domesticemployers.org with questions.

  • December 14 at 1 PM: Reliance Home Senior Services, Sunrise Mall, Massapequa, NY

  • Dates/times and locations pending in Syracuse and Albany

  • Virtual action in the works!

In this document, you will find sample emails to send to your communities, listservs, and networks as well as sample tweets and graphics to share across social media. If your organization is interested in endorsing the Fair Pay for Home Care campaign and co-sponsoring a local event, fill out this form, and email the contact of your local action to inquire into co-sponsorship. Endorsement and cosponsorship signify you will share about this event and future campaign opportunities with your organizational networks.

If you are individually interested in playing a role in supporting one of the Relaunch actions, sign up at this link.

We are also looking for people to write letters to the editor in support of Fair Pay! Sign up here to get the full toolkit!

Also, if you are having trouble getting home care or recruiting a PA through CDPA, file an incident report here.
