“Say The Word: Disabled”
Maysoon Zayid, Refinery - July 24, 2020

This article by disabled comedian and activist Maysoon Zayid is quite simply the best, most efficient combined argument about disability terminology AND why using disability and mental health slurs in politics is bad.

“John Lewis: Voting Matters”
Disability Rights New York, YouTube.com - August 29, 2017

And older video, but worth watching to highlight how the late Rep. John Lewis, a civil rights pioneer who passed away this week, supported disability rights.

“Beyond The Promise: 30 Years Since Passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act”
New York Times Special Section

There are a lot of great articles in this series, and a few that have raised some serious objections from the disability community ... particularly the one on gene editing to eliminate certain disabilities. The project as a whole could have been done better with more input from the disability community, but it’s still worth reading.
