Independent Living Skills

Everyone uses a set of skills to function successfully as an adult. Each of us learns these skills, to one degree or another, during childhood and youth, in school, from our parents, from our friends and neighbors. Even in adulthood, we usually continue to refine and add new skills, as we gain experience with work, relationships, and family.

People with disabilities need the same skills others do, but we also may need to learn more specialized skills ... how to maintain a wheelchair, how to get errands done without a car, how to explain our disability or accommodation needs to others, how to put people at ease in social situations, how to get employers to see our abilities, not just our disabilities.

At NCCI, we can help you improve your Independent Living Skills, which can increase your independence and success in life.
