North East Radio Reading Service People who can't read newspapers and magazines due to visual impairment or other disability may qualify to use a Radio Reading Service receiver, a specially-tuned radio that plays broadcasts of audio readings of newspapers, magazines, and other copywrited publicaions. The nation-wide InTouch Network broadcasts readings 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Local volunteers for the Radio Reading Serivce read the Press-Republican and other local publications, which are brodcast locally in the mornings and evenings, Monday through Saturday.

The North East Radio Reading Service is a partnership of the North Country Center for Independence, Mountain Lake PBS, Northeast Public Radio, and the Clinton-Essex-Franklin Library System, with additional financial support from the Lions Clubs in Beekmantown, Chazy, Plattsburgh and Peru, the Plattsburgh Elks Club, Fraternal Lodge #144 F&AM, and the United Way of Clinton and Essex Counties.
